The next move for Manchester United hero Ryan Giggs will be announced within 24 hours, according to Sky Sports’ sources.
The former player and, until now assistant manager, has been a stalwart at the club for 29 years.
But new manager Jose Mourinho is expected to take Rui Faria as his faithful assistant to the job, pushing Giggs out.
Mourinho is believed to have offered Giggs a role on the coaching staff but has not left room for him as assistant manager – a role he has carried out for two years.
A spokesperson for Manchester United told Sky News Mobile: “There’s nothing agreed yet, so not anticipating anything today – it depends on when it’s all concluded.”

Steve Round, former assistant manager at the club told Sky Sports’ News: “It’s now his opportunity to step out from Manchester United and go and be a manager in his own right.
“He can take the helm at another club, work on his leadership and build on his managerial experience.
“If he can be a success, and I really hope he can, who’s to say in five or six years’ time he can’t come back to Manchester United as an experienced manager who can take them forward post-Jose?
